You’ve Gotta Try this Satisfying Sweet Treat!

One thing we have learned on our REAL food journey is...

it helps to have bite-size sweet treats easily and readily available.

And, of course, we have also learned that having those unhealthy treats out of the house is also key!

What if we told you we discovered a bite-sized sweet treat that tastes like a candy bar?

And not just any candy bar...

a Snickers candy bar!

WHAT?!

Thanks to one of our Eat REAL America members, we found this treat that is so crazy easy to put together.  It only requires 4 ingredients and involves no baking!

They are Snickers-Inspired Stuffed Dates!

In case you are thinking "dates?" like we once were, check out our coaching tip for more about dates.

They are loaded with potassium, fiber and antioxidants, and the best part is they are sweet, chewy and super satisfying!

Watch our video to see how simple it is to make these mouth-watering bite-size treats:

How do you make Snickers-Inspired Stuffed Dates?

It is so simple you really don't need a recipe:

  1. Cut a slit in the top of your dates - lengthwise.  Remove the pits if dates are not already pitted.
  2. Add a teaspoon of natural peanut butter (either creamy or crunchy) inside each date and press the halves of the dates together slightly.
  3. Melt dark chocolate or dark chocolate chips and use a fork or spoon to drizzle dark chocolate on top of the dates.
  4. Sprinkle chopped peanuts on top.  (If peanuts are not salted, you can also sprinkle a tiny bit of salt on top.)
  5. Place in the freezer for 20-30 minutes for them to set and chocolate to harden.
  6. Enjoy!  Store dates in the refrigerator for a sweet treat craving!  You can also store them in the freezer, but you probably want to let them thaw before eating.

  1. I just want to say thank you for blessing me and my Granddaughter; Jaelyn to be able to make a healthy, delicious and nutritious treat over the weekend. She’s 10 years old and I don’t get to see her often because she lives out of State. My daughter called with a surprise visit and we just loved making the chocolate chia energy bites. I didn’t have any maple syrup, so we just added peanut butter instead and they were delicious, especially after being in the refrigerator a few hours.

    • Being in your kitchen with your granddaughter warms our hearts, thank you! We are thrilled that you both enjoyed the Chocolate Chia Energy Bites — we think you will love the Snickers Stuffed Dates too!

  2. Made healthy snickers yesterday!! I never thought healthy and snickers would be in the same sentence. THEY WERE A HUGE FAMILY SUCCESS! These bring my sweet tooth to a screeching halt. VERY satisfying. YUM YUM YUM YUM!

  3. Krista, the Snickers inspired dates sooooo good. I made them tonight and ate two. How many can I really eat in a day. I think this will be something my husband will loves. He loves snickers. And for a while he was eating the mini bars all the time. Thanks so much for this much needed snack. The peanut butter cookies are awesome too. I’ve been making those for a while. I wish I knew how to send the picture to you, but I don’t.
