Why We Like It

Believe it or not, unsweetened cocoa powder is a health food, even at breakfast!  This delicious recipe is also ideal for those who have a gluten or dairy intolerance.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Mash First:

  • 1 ripe banana

Add to a medium-sized bowl and mash with a fork.

Add Next:

  • 1 cup natural peanut butter (or almond butter, or 1/2 cup of each)
  • 1/2 cup applesauce (natural unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup ground flax seed
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar (or brown sugar, firmly packed)
  • 1 tsp baking powder (aluminum-free)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Add to the bowl with the banana and stir to combine.
