Do You Need an Easy Button?

let’s be honest, we all want more of it!

Convenience is defined as any “quality or situation that makes something easy or useful by reducing the amount of work or time required to do something" -- who doesn't want more of that?!

One of Eat REAL America’s goals is to help you enjoy healthy, great-tasting meals…that are also CONVENIENT to prepare.

We are determined to help you avoid the “mealtime rut,” make your grocery shopping less of a chore (maybe even enjoyable!), and overcome the everyday challenges of cooking and eating healthy.  This coaching tip includes links to just some of the ways you can simultaneously bring convenience and healthy eating into your routine!

We have all downloaded apps onto our phones because they provide a huge convenience.  With the click of a button, you have the information you need in the palm of your hand.

We frequently hear, “you should have an Eat REAL America app,” or an easy way to access the Eat REAL America website from our phones and tablets.

Today, we want to share a little secret…

and bring a little more convenience into your life!

There is a “one-click” way to access Eat REAL America…including your shopping list, recipe box, hundreds of recipes and more.  It is not technically an “app,” but it provides the same result!

When we first learned how to do this, we were ecstatic!  We assumed we were the only ones who didn’t know this trick, but recent discussions have made it clear that was probably a bad assumption.  So, here is a simple, 10-second way to download the Eat REAL America “app” onto your mobile device:

BEWARE...convenience is not always a good thing!

We all know that, when it comes to food, convenience is a slippery slope.  There is good convenience…things like pre-shredded carrots, pre-cut vegetables and frozen fruits and vegetables.  We always encourage “fresh it best,” but these convenient options are great when time is in short supply.

Then, there is the convenience we should try to avoid (and certainly limit)…the processed food world is a "convenience paradise."  These foods are processed in large factories with convenience – not health – in mind!  Nutrients have been stripped away and other ingredients (many of which can harm our health) are added to make the foods shelf-stable for an extended period of time, easy to throw in the microwave for some quick calories, or easy to eat straight out of the bag or box.  Health is often not a requirement for these highly-processed foods!

REAL food and health can be convenient!

There are so many ways to make it quick and easy to prepare delicious, healthy meals using REAL food.
