This week was a beautiful reminder that REAL food isn’t just about what’s on your plate…
it’s about connection, community, and celebrating life’s meaningful moments!
We kicked things off with our weekly trip to the farmers’ market, followed by a heartfelt going-away party surrounded by amazing friends! They called it the Border Hop Bash – the perfect sendoff as we prepare to move from Kansas to neighboring Missouri.
Then, we connected virtually with our incredible Eat REAL America Champions for an inspiring online meetup, where we made the Butternut & Black Bean Enchilada Skillet and had an engaging discussion on meal planning and prep. Every time we get together, we’re reminded of the power of community – and the joy that comes from sharing stories, experiences, challenges, and big wins!
We also did a cooking demo for one of the local companies we’ve partnered with for nearly ten years. Their employees have been such a blessing, and it’s always rewarding to help them discover how simple and delicious healthy eating can be. The Pear & Butternut Squash Salad and Harvest Pumpkin Bars were both huge hits!
Next, we made a quick trip to the new house – with a stop at the orchard along the way (yes, those apples from last week are officially gone!). We arrived just in time to participate in Zonya’s Microbiome Reset program from our patio as the sun set – it’s so inspiring to hear about all the progress and excitement from the program participants.
And…we were super excited to welcome our first visitors from Wichita – we loved spending time with them! They even gave us some helpful advice on managing the stray cat that showed up on our patio the night we arrived. We’ll see if we can peacefully coexist! 🐾

Coaching Tip of the Week

Have you noticed we’ve been cooking with a lot of apples recently? That’s because they are at their peak right now – crisp, juicy, and perfect for fall-inspired meals!
Apples are convenient, portable, long-lasting…not to mention, they are DELICIOUS AND NUTRITIOUS! With just 95 calories in a medium apple, they are loaded with both soluble and insoluble fiber (4.4 grams in a medium size apple). Plus, they provide your microbiome the nourishment it needs and help lower cholesterol.
They’re also packed with vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants, making them a small but mighty addition to your day. And with so many varieties available right now, it’s the perfect time to branch out and find a new favorite!
