Roasting garlic brings out the sweetness and the roasted garlic cloves spread like butter — amazingly delicious! All you need is one garlic bulb and 1 Tbsp of olive oil.
Peel most of the paper off the outer layer of the garlic bulb (you want to leave a little so the bulb stays together). Cut the top end off the garlic bulb (cut just enough so you can see the garlic cloves inside). Place the garlic bulb on a piece of aluminum foil and drizzle the olive oil on the garlic cloves. Wrap and seal the foil around the garlic bulb.
Roast in the oven at 400 degrees for 35-45 minutes (at 35-40 minutes the cloves will be tender, and at 45 minutes the cloves will be softer and will spread more easily). Let cool slightly and then squeeze the entire bulb and the roasted cloves will slide right out. Then, you can chop the cloves and add to roasted veggies, pizza, or salads, or spread the garlic on toasted bread with your favorite toppings!
