We want to give you something a little different with the coaching tip this week!
As Memorial Day weekend is approaching, we wanted to provide something a little lighter and entertaining!
Last Saturday, I was invited to be a guest on The Good Life radio show with host Guy Bower here in Wichita. I have known Guy for several years and was a guest on his radio show back in 2018, when we discussed the release of the Eat REAL Cookbook.
He describes his show as “cutting edge food and wine information without snobbery.” Guy is not only a fantastic person with a life-loving personality, he is also a retired Air Force fighter pilot and retired as an Airbus A300 Captain for FedEx. During this travels, he became an avid food and wine enthusiast and started his radio program in Miami in 1988. He and his wife, Beth, have been instrumental in bringing their enthusiasm to Wichita and have helped raise over $250,000 in scholarships for students pursuing careers in the culinary and hospitality industries.
It is always so much fun to talk food and wine with Guy!
During our discussion last Saturday, we covered a range of topics, which you can see below. Keep in mind, the first 30-90 seconds of each segment includes commercials, which you can forward through if desired! I have also included links on the topics we discussed in case you want to dive deeper during the upcoming long weekend!
During Segment 1, we discuss the “What do we eat?” videos that we did during the 47 days of Lent.
During Segment 2, we discuss a variety of topics including:
- the evolution of Eat REAL America
- the farmers’ market
- organic vs. conventional produce
- comfort foods and
- our GO-TO seasoning
In the last segment, we discuss the Roasted Carrot Hummus (with kohlrabi) and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups I brought Guy. Plus, we talk about the wine of the week.
