Why We Like It
This is the best way to cook chicken so you have tender, juicy chicken ready for a variety of meals! The slow cooker does the work so you can easily make the Loaded Chicken Salad Sandwich, top the Southwest Stuffed Sweet Potatoes, Thai Pizza, plus many more!
Prepare the Spices:
Add to a small bowl and stir to combine. Set aside.
Prepare the Slow Cooker:
Place in a greased slow cooker. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the chicken and add 1/2 cup of water.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the chicken is tender and falling apart.
Serve and Enjoy!
Use two forks and shred the chicken while it is still in the slow cooker. Stir and let it sit for about 5 minutes to soak up the juices. Remove from the slow cooker and let cool.
Store covered in the refrigerator, and then use in a variety of recipes.
Feel free to use a whole chicken instead of chicken breasts. If you are using a whole chicken, remove any giblets and, if desired, rinse before adding to the slow cooker.
If you have pre-mixed GOTO seasoning (garlic, onion, thyme and oregano), feel free to use 3 tsp to replace the spices in this recipe! (You will still need to add salt and pepper.)
