Week of October 4, 2021 - Weekly Meal Ideas


There is a lot to celebrate as we enter October and the transition into fall!  For starters, this is the best time of year for fresh figs.  Whether you use fresh or dried figs, we encourage you to enjoy the Butternut Squash & Fig Pasta and the Grape, Fig & Walnut Salad!  The figs add excellent flavor and texture to both of these dishes!

Next up…this is the perfect time to bring a little bit of Munich into your kitchen.  Picture this…a cool fall day, a great college or NFL football game, a heaping serving of One-Pot Oktoberfest, and – if you wish – a great German or craft Oktoberfest beer!  And, for another delicious taste of fall, be sure to try the Thai Inspired Autumn Hummus.

Get ready, next Saturday (October 9th) is National Beer and Pizza Day and the Moroccan Spice Lamb Pizza is the ideal way to celebrate.  You can even use your beer of choice to caramelize the onions.  For more on cooking with beer, don’t forget to check out Tuesday’s coaching tip.
