Week of December 28, 2020 - Weekly Meal Ideas


Merry Christmas to all of the amazing Eat REAL America community!  As we begin our preparations to say good riddance to 2020 and hello to a highly anticipated 2021, we want to share a few incredibly tasty ideas for your celebrations!

The Sweet & Spicy Baked Chicken Wings and the Seven Layer Dip are both fantastic!  The Butternut Squash Lasagna is also a great option if you have a little extra time.  We put this together based on a request from an Eat REAL America member.  Rather than the traditional version that is loaded with cheese and heavy cream, this version is loaded with veggies and a smoky tomato sauce.  It does take a little longer to prepare, so savor it and maybe enjoy it with a glass of wine!

If you are looking for a delicious breakfast idea, the Gingerbread Baked Oatmeal will keep you warm and cozy.  And, if you are in need of a post-holiday detox, the Simple Fish Tacos and the Kale Salad with Blood Oranges & Goat Cheese will definitely help!

Of course, New Year’s Day wouldn’t be complete without black eyed peas…the Hoppin’ John is super-easy to prepare and loaded with flavor!  Plus, it goes great with the Whole Grain Honey Cornbread.  We all know black eyed peas are known to bring good luck and extra blessings…if that is true, we obviously didn’t eat near enough on January 1, 2020, so let’s all eat up this year!
