Week of December 15, 2014 - Weekly Meal Ideas

When testing recipes, we sometimes find meals that are not “website worthy.”  Fortunately, we also find some we originally thought might not make the cut, but then they turn out to be delicious surprises!  This week includes several of these delicious surprises!  The Pork, Apple and Sage Meatloaf is exceptionally good and the Mushroom Tortilla Pizza was fantastic!  Our daughter loves caesar salads, and the Brussels Sprouts Caesar Salad did not disappoint!  For a busy weeknight meal, the Slow Cooker Ratatouille Chili is perfect…throw everything into the slow cooker in the morning and arrive home to a great-tasting meal!

Funny story about the Sweet Potato Nicoise Tuna Salad…shopping with our daughter, I was buying the canned tuna and she says “I really don’t like tuna…it smells funny.”  Then, after eating the Sweet Potato Nicoise Tuna Salad for dinner, when asked what she thought, she said “it was really good.”  After telling her it included tuna (I think she thought it was chicken), she said “WHAT?!  I can’t believe it!”  I know…parenting at its best, but there is no better way to get them to try things without a pre-conceived notion in their heads!  We hope you have a chance to try some of these delicious surprises this week and see for yourself!
