Why We Like It

Blend Together First:
- 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas (or black beans, rinsed and drained)
- 1/4 cup almond butter
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup almond milk (unsweetened, or skim or soy milk)
- 5 Tbsp (1/4 cup + 1 Tbsp) pure maple syrup
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Add to a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
(Add another tablespoon of milk if needed to reach your desired consistency.)
Add and Blend Again:
- 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips (60% cacoa or higher, or use cacao nibs)
Add to the food processor or blender and pulse a few times to combine.
Transfer the hummus to a bowl.
Serve and Enjoy!
- 1 Tbsp walnuts (chopped, OPTIONAL)
Serve immediately or place in the refrigerator in a covered container until ready to serve.
Enjoy with apple slices, pear slices, strawberries, bananas, or whole grain crackers.
