Why We Like It

The ideal solution when water gets boring!  A few hours before serving, or even the night before, add fruit to 1/2 gallon (or 2 quart) pitcher of water, and refrigerate.  Feel free to get creative - see the quick tips for more flavor combinations!

Make the Fruit Infused Water:

  • 1 orange (sliced)
  • 1 lemon (sliced)
  • 1 lime (sliced)

Add to a 1/2 gallon (or 2 quart) pitcher of water.

Refrigerate overnight or for a few hours.

Serve and Enjoy!

Quick Tips

When the pitcher is empty, simply refill once more, using the same fruit, for great results.  You can even “cheat” and use 2 cups or more of frozen mixed berries, melons, peaches, or mango.  This saves on prep time and since the fruit has been frozen, it releases its juices more readily as it thaws.

Some people prefer to remove all outer peel and pith of the fresh fruit to avoid any bitter “rind” flavor, although we find this isn’t an issue if enjoyed within 24 hours.  (If using fresh herbs such as mint or basil, use the back of a spoon to lightly mash them against the side of the pitcher to help release their flavor.)

Try any of these great-tasting flavor combinations:

  • 8 large cubes of watermelon + 4 fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cucumber (cut lengthwise into skinny ribbons) + 6 fresh mint leaves
  • 8 strawberries (sliced) + 2 kiwi (peeled and sliced)
  • 1 cup pineapple (cut into rings or cubes, including the core) + 1 lime (sliced)
