Why We Like It

Want to make your burger even healthier?  Transform it into a salad!  This Asian-inspired burger has great flavor and don't forget the peanut sauce...it's the best part!

Make the Burgers:

  • 1 lb ground turkey (lean ground turkey)
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried coriander
  • 1/4 red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Panko bread crumbs
  • 1 egg

Add to a large bowl and mix to combine.  Form into 4-5 patties and place on a plate.  Set aside.

Make the Peanut Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup natural peanut butter
  • 2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

Add to a small bowl or mason jar, along with 1 Tbsp of water, and stir or shake to combine.  If needed, add more water, 1 Tbsp at a time, until desired consistency.  Set aside.

Make the Salad:

  • 6 cups romaine lettuce (chopped, or greens of your choice)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (cut in half)
  • 1 small cucumber (sliced)
  • 2 cups red cabbage (shredded)

Add to a large bowl and toss to combine.  Set aside.

Cook the Burgers:

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil (if cooking burgers in a skillet)

Grill the burgers or cook in a skillet with olive oil, turning once, until browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes per side.

Put it All Together:

Serve individual salads topped with a turkey burger and drizzled with peanut sauce.

Serve and Enjoy!
