Why We Like It
You may be surprised by how good roasted broccoli is! We have even seen kids pop these in their mouths before they hit the table! Note: the small amount of sugar makes them secretly “addicting” by neutralizing any bitter flavors detected by some. We highly recommend it for anyone not already in love with broccoli! For variety, you can substitute 2 crowns of broccoli for 12 oz petite baby carrots. See our coaching tip for more about roasting vegetables.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
Prepare and Roast the Broccoli:
- 4 crowns fresh broccoli (cut into bite size florets, about 8 cups)
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder (or to taste)
- 1 tsp sugar (OPTIONAL)
- 2 Tbsp parmesan cheese (shredded, OPTIONAL)
First, rinse the broccoli and shake out as much water as you can. Pat dry.
Add everything to a medium-sized bowl and stir to combine.
Spread onto a large greased baking sheet in a single layer.
Roast for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and stir or turn to brown evenly. Return to the oven and roast 5 minutes more, or until slightly tender and lightly browned.
Serve and Enjoy!
